Første dag er over og det ble gjennomført 2 seilaser i dag i lette og skiftende vindforhold. Temperaturen er shorts.
Torvald og Clas Brunnhage vant sine kval heat, Søren ble nr 4 i sitt Odd Linqvist nr 7, Eero Laurila nr 9, Lasse Rand nr 11, Olle Martonen nr 11 og Egill Bjærke nr 13.
Torvald Og Clas måtte ned i B fra A-heatet og det starter i morgen.
Egill Bjærke seilte seg opp i C heatet hvor han ble hengende samen med en anen seiler i starten og winchen kuttet ut, nye sjanser i D.

| 2008 Barbados Mount Gay Championships |  Every year in the end of june the IOM sailors invtes to their national chammpionship. This year is no exception. The 2008 MOUNT GAY/ BOATYYARD 2008 / DIGICELL REGATTA is on in the period 28th June through 29tth June.
This regatta is an exprience for life. 4 days with racing im the most beautiful surroundings and the rekaxed attude of Carribean. Meet the banyans , tast the rum and live the life while enjoying what you like most, IOM racing.

| Nordic sailors at Pohcea Cup in France! | 
Torvald, who has a long history of sailing the Pohcea Cup all the way back from the Marbelhead days, has been joined by the finnish sailor Olle Martonen. Rumours has it that a couple more are thinking about going...

| | NOR, Vintage boats in NMS | 
Norsk Modellseilforening (NMS) is the oldest modelyacht club in Norway. The club was founded in 1904, and has been up and running ever since. In the clubhouse the walls are decorated with some vintage yachts.

| Mount Gay Barbados National Championships 2006 | 
The races were sucsessfully completed with two separate regattas, one in the Golden Pond and one in the ocean. As many as 61 races were held in four days. The 3 best overall, both regattaes combined: 1) Jeff Weiss 2) Steve Landeau 3) Tony Gonsalves

| | Hardwind tacks with Graham Bantock | In my quest for "tricks of the trade", I was very pleased that another great IOM sailor, Graham Bantock took the time to share some of his thoughts on the subject of Tacking in hard winds. This is also an aera that I struggle with, and loose a lot of places in races.

Well, you can contact the best IOM sailor in the world, and hope that he is willing to share some of his knowledge with you. I did that and got some real good advice on a subject, which I always seem to loose out on - the penalty turns.
